Celtic Knot Braid Band

If you are looking for a bit of braid bling – here it is! This particular knot design is protective, and thought to be commonly used on shields for battle and display. The four arms are representative of the elements, the directions, the seasons, or even the four gifts of the Tuatha: the cauldron, the sword, the spear, and the stone. Shield knots were talismans for protection against evil spirits, disease, and other misfortunes of life. The Celtic shield knot is a closed one and does not have any open ends, it can be said to represent unity as well eternity. This knot work is further encircled citing the unity of all things, our connection to the oneness of all things, and the eternal nature of these things.

This Celtic Knot was sawed and formed by hand. This piece is made entirely from sterling silver. Affixed on the back is a sterling hook to fasten to any braid. The hook measures just shy of 3/4 of an inch, and the knot just over 1.5 inches.
